The basic objective of the work of our company is the production of Mediterranean fish and the trade in fresh fish from open sea fishing.

The company was established in 1993 (under the name Blue Island Fish Farming Ltd) as a mariculture unit. A turning point for the company has been its conversion in 1999 into a Public Company and its listing in the Cyprus Stock Exchange. This development contributed to the growth of the company both in the field of mariculture and in the field of fresh fish trading.

Today the company distinguishes itself in the Cyprus market in the fields of mariculture and fish trading, in addition to its size and its modern organizational structure and infrastructure. Both the structure and the infrastructure of the company are continuously developing, with a view to offering a reliable and complete service to its clients, both in Cyprus and abroad.

The basic fields of the company’s activities are:

•Fry breeding, through our subsidiary, Blue Fisheries in the Akrotiri area
•Fish farming through our fish breeding farm at the Governor’s Beach
•Retail selling through our own shops and shops in supermarket chains.
•Wholesaling in Cyprus and abroad through our factory/fish packing unit in the Strovolos Industrial Estate.


The basic trading sectors of Blue Island are:

•Retail Sector:
Sales through our own network of fish markets and shops in supermarket chains throughout the island.
•Wholesale Sector:
Supply of products to other fish markets and Seafood shops throughout Cyprus.
•Sales to Catering units sector:
Supply of fish to hotels and restaurants throughout the island.
•Exports Sector:
Fish exports from our own breeding farm (mainly sea bass and sea bream) and other Mediterranean fish such as tuna, sword fish etc caught by Cypriot vessels, to European countries, the United States and the Middle East.
•Sector for the Sale of Fry, through our subsidiary Blue Fisheries LTD to fish farms in Cyprus and abroad.

Currently the Company employs approximately 100 persons and has fish markets and customer service stations throughout the island.

Fresh Sea Bream (Sparus Aurata)
• Fished, packed and transported by national and EU approved establishment
• Fully traceable production and supply chain: from fish egg to end producer.
• Carefully selected healthy and strong juveniles (2-3gr fish) from own hatchery facilities situated at Akrotiri Village, an area with absence of any human development activities, clear waters and natural surrounding environment.
• Raised in our fattening unit in open sea, situated at Cape Dolos area, with clean waters and strong currents all year round, in contrast with the ordinary fattening in closed shores, with low oxygenation and high levels of ammonia, phosphorus and other feed residuals resulted in deceased fish.
• Being raised in monitored conditions secure fish welfare and minimum environmental impacts. Low stocking densities (max 12kg/mÑ) and instantly killing with ice and water.
• Fed with high quality standardized dry feed, composed of natural ingredients, fish meal, fish oil, cereals, enriched with essential vitamins and minerals and totally free from products or by – products of terrestrial animal origin.
• Naturally healthy fish without the need of using vaccines, antibiotics, growth promoters or any other medicine and chemicals.
• Natural appearance and texture with supreme taste and high nutritional value due to better metabolism, ensured by proper feeding, clean waters and strong underwater south-east and south-west currents all year around. Rich especially in polyunsaturated omega -3 fatty acids and low in saturated fatty acids.
• Always fresh. The fish is caught on customer demand and maintained in controlled temperature from harvesting to distribution, under strict hygienic conditions.
• Fished, packed and transported by national and EU approved establishment (Reg.No. CY F07) and according to the EN ISO 22000:2005 standard (Cert. No 049070126, TUV).

Fresh Sea Bass (Dicentrarchus Labrax)
• Fished, packed and transported by national and EU approved establishment
• Fully traceable production and supply chain: from fish egg to end producer.
